Twas the Night Before Christmas...

This is the second card we made at my Holiday workshop and boy, it's a doozy!  I saw it and knew immediately it would be a show stopper.  It's a scene right out of a story book.

My card was inspired by this one on Pinterest: Christmas Postcard.  Truly Amazing!  I wish I had the link of the creator, but I couldn't find it :(  If you are she or you know who made this, please do share. Would love to give Kudos!  In the meantime, this card has a portfolio of awesomeness.

Holiday Home is the star of the show.  It's images include: the houses, the lamp post, the stars and Santa.  This stamp set also has Framelits Dies that coordinate to make cutting these houses super easy.  They can be bundled together and if you're getting one, you should definitely get the other. The background was created using the Post Card stamp and the Sunburst from the Kinda Ececletic stamp set.  The snow was added to the houses with Liquid Applique.  You dab it on and heat set it.  As it heats, it puffs. So perfect for snow and you can find it at any craft store.

French Foliage Postcard

Hi All,

Well, I am home sick for the second day in a row.  I think it's just a cold, could be allergies, who knows?  Either way, I am couch bound and have used up all of my good DVR'd TV.  What's left?  Slim pickins.  If you didn't know...daytime TV is pretty bad, even with cable.  I think Netflix is calling!

One advantage to being couch bound, I have time to get a post together.  The card I have for you today uses my new favorite stamp set: Post Card.  I previously used it for a Birthday card, but have an Autumn one for you today.

I paired it up with another classic: French Foliage.  They are a match made in heaven. Not to mention, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler and So Saffron make a fabulous fall combo.  Love them together!

The card was full of color, but I felt it needed some texture. So, I popped the circle over the stamp and added some baker's twine with the tag.  I think it all came together quite nicely.

I think this is one of the most versatile stamp sets that SU! sells.  You can use it for any season, holiday or special occasion.  It's pretty fabulous! Happy Birthday Mary Beth!

Hi All,

Today is my good friend Mary Beth's birthday.  She is an AVID card maker, so the pressure was on to create something really special for her.  Luckily, I had just gotten a new stamp that hadn't even been inked up or used at a workshop yet, so it was something all new to share with her.  How fun!

I stumbled upon the Post Card stamp as I was flipping through the catalog one day.  I was checking out the hostess sets and noticed that they had paired it up with the Postage Collection Hostess Set.  They are adorable together!  For Mary Beth's card, I just CASED the card from the cattie.

The Post Card stamp is a large stamp and acts as the background stamp for this card.  As usual, I went to my trusty Color Coach to get a combo to play with.  I went with River Rock, Rose Red and Not Quite Navy.  They are fabulous together!

What I love about the Post Card stamp is that you can use it so many ways.  You can make a Halloween postcard, a fall postcard, a winter postcard...the options are truly endless. Another plus, you can embellish it in sooo many ways.  I trimmed down a doily and added a punched stamp in  the corner.  I finished the card by spritzing on some Always Artichoke ink and adding some Rose Red Seam Binding.
