Wild About Flowers

Hi All,

Happy 3-Day Weekend!  Hopefully you have fun plans to enjoy an evening of fireworks. Not sure if we'll head out or not.  With our triple digit temps here in AZ...it makes for quite a warm night.

I kicked off the long weekend with a workshop Thursday night.  Our first card used a stamp set that had been around for quite some time called Wild About Flowers.  It's funny how a stamp set can be in multiple catalogs and it takes that one design to get you hooked.  These were the cards that did it for me.

I loved this design.  It was very reminiscent of a garden.  I kept Hardwood for the background, but created a 'white wash' on Crumb Cake using Craft Whisper White ink.  The flower stems are in Cucumber Crush and the flowers are in Calypso Coral, Rich Razzleberry, Peach Parfait and Strawberry Slush.  They are perfect together.  I loved the pop of purple, so I added a strip of Moonlight DSP.

This stamp set is great in that it offers you three different flower options with stems and buds.  I chose this flower design, as I love poppies and these look very similar.

Item #: 138728 Wild About Flowers $21.00

The background used the Hardwood stamp.

Item #: 133035 Hardwood $15.00
This set is a great addition to any collection.  If you'd like to add it to yours, click on the 'Order Online' icon in the top right-hand corner or pop me an email.  Thanks for stopping by!

Big Day

Hi All,

The card I have for you today is one of the cutest cards I've seen in a while.  It's an Easel card. After admiring from afar, I finally sat down and got to work on my own.

The inspiration for my card was this one by Michelle Last.  So stinkin' cute and actually pretty easy to make.

1. Cut a standard horizontal card base at 4 1/4 x 11 (fold in half)
2. Measure in 5/8" from each side and mark with a pencil (these are the legs)
3. Measure 1 3/4" up from the base and mark with a pencil (this creates the horizontal line)
4. Take your trimmer and cut vertically from the bottom edge of the card at the 5/8" mark up to
the 1 3/4" mark on each side
5. Take your trimmer and cut between the two vertical cuts to create the horizontal cut
6. This will create your legs.  (A rectangle punch would work perfectly too)
7. Finish it off by stamping with the Hardwood stamp

The sentiment on the card is a stamp from the Sale-A-Bration catalog called Big Day.  Definitely my favorite Freebie!  It is heat embossed with White onto the Chalkboard Paper.  The banner was created using the Banner Punch and adhered directly to the card and finished off with some Linen Thread. Love it!

The stamp set and printed paper are no longer available, but everything is.  If you'd like to add any of these to your collection, pop me an email, click on the Item ID under the pictures or click on the Order icon in the top right-hand corner.  Thanks for stopping by!

Oh, Happy Day

Hi All,

Happy Weekend!  I hope the first half of it has gotten off to a great start.

I have been so excited to share the card I have for you today.  It was this card by Cindy Major that sold me on all of these fabulous products and inspired my card: the Hardwood Background stamp, the Starburst Sayings stamp set/Framelits and the super cute Decorative Dots embossing folder.

There's a lot going on with this card, but it all works together so perfectly.  I kept Cindy's basic design but swapped out her colors for Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.  They are fabulous together!  I think Strawberry Slush is my new favorite pink.

One of my favorite additions to the card is the arrow from the Hung Up Cute Clips.  They come in three designs and are so whimsically cute.

All of these products are currently available in one of the many catalogs.  The Decorative Dots embossing folder is the only item going away.  It is available for FREE in the Sale-A-Bration catalog when you spend $50.  Be sure to take advantage of this offer if there are items you'd like to add to your collection.  It's the best time of year to buy!  Pop me an email or click on the Order Online icon in the top right-hand corner.

Thanks for stopping by!
