Valentine {please be mine}

Hi All,

So sorry it has been so long since I've posted.  I've actually had a workshop since then..taken pictures of the cards...but just hadn't gotten them posted :(  I figured since Valentine's Day had come and gone and I actually had a card to share, I better get it up.

How was your Valentine's Day?  Ours was good.  We braved the mall to go see Winter's Tale.  I had started to read the book (all 700 pgs) but couldn't get into it, so I decided to hold out for the movie. So glad I did...it made a great movie, but was a long, overly detailed book.

The card I have for you today is based on a design I saw by Nichole Heady.  She created a very simple banner using baker's twine.

I kept the same design and used the Banner Blast stamps and Banner punch from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  I punched a hole on each side of the card mat and tied off the baker's twine.  Prior to adhering the baker's twine, I ironed it to straighten it out. To hold the shape once down, I added a mini glue dot to the center. From there it was easy.  Stamp and punch the banner and add a pop dot to each.  Love the simplicity of this card.  Hope you do too!

During Sale-A-Bration, Banner Blast and the Banner Punch can be earned FREE for every $50 you spend. This is the best time of year to add to your collection and both of these are great additions!  Click on the Shopping Cart in the top right hand corner if you'd like to grow your collection.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

An Elegant Pumpkin

Hi All,

Today's post is a follow up to my last post with another project using the same pumpkin dies I used for the Jack-O-Lantern. This time around, I paired them up with the beautiful Eastern Elegance DSP. This patterned paper is not necessarily designed for fall cards, but it surely works... especially if you're looking for a non-traditional color combo, which I often do.

This DSP is full of beautiful designs in Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Whisper White and the new In Color Smoky Slate.  So fun to play with these patterns!

Like the Jack-O-Lantern, this pumpkin is set on a card base, so it stands vertically.  It would be perfect for dinner place settings or added to your dinner buffet table.

Even if you're not making these adorable pumpkins, this paper pack is a must.  The prints are beautifully feminine, but a few could also be used for masculine cards.  It's very versatile.  If you'd like to add it to your collection, just click on the Order Online icon in the top right corner or pop me an email.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

PP69: Give Thanks

Hi All! Are you ready for a sketch challenge this week? Nance has put together a great flagged banner sketch for us.
I was so excited when I saw this as I've been wanting to try a design like this for some time. For me, this design is all about color and paper. So, in preparation, I placed a little order and got some new goodies. Among my goodies was the new Sp
ice Cake DSP. When I say this pack is gorgeous, it is no understatement. Every single print is worthy of being on a card.

With the new DSP came some new colors to ad
d to the collection. Pool Party is the first one I used as it was in these prints I picked out. As you can see, it pairs up beautifully with Soft Suede. The flowers are new too. They are the Floral Fusion Sizzlets Die. Some of the other Paper Player girls have been using them and I was sold. I figured they'd be perfect for this sketch. At their centers are the new Polka Dot Brads. A-dor-a-ble!

The papers and design came together so easily, but I could not pull together a focal image on the banner. That's always my problem...finishing it off. Maybe something will hit me and I'll get it added. Until then, we'll let the papers be the stars of the show.

Is this sketch calling your name? If so, we'd love to see your design. Be sure to stop by the Paper Players and check out the other fabulous cards and upload your own. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Give Thanks

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner? I'm trying to get a few more Fall cards posted before I move on to Christmas, but I'm not sure that will happen. So, you may see a mixture of the two in the coming weeks.

This card mixes the Falling Leaves & Holiday Best stamp sets. The Holiday Best stamp set was a Hostess set in last year's catalog. If you have it, pull it out. I love this Give Thanks stamp and it works perfectly with the leaves.

The DSP on this card is Autumn Spice. I paired it up with Early Espresso and sponged the edges to soften it a little bit. The tag is from the Lots of Tags Die Cut. This one is my favorite design in the set. I added some Old Olive Satin Ribbon to give it a pop of color. I think I got the job done ;)

Thanks for stopping by!
