Throw Back Thursday: Blooming with Love

Hi All!

For my last Fall card of 2017, I have a throw-back for ya!  Who remembers this one? Blooming with Love. It's a classic and I don't think it could ever go out of style.

It features a wheelbarrow of leaves.  Nothing epitomizes fall more...except maybe a pile of leaves.  I stumbled across this card from 2008 designed by Atomic Butterfly and changed a spring themed card to fall one.  These definitely aren't traditional fall colors, but I love them together.

Wreath-y Goodness

I had seen this card a couple of years ago and always said I was going to give it a try.  Well, this year, I finally did.  It's a great way to use those small leaf stamps that you have floating around and is so simple to do.

I took one of my circle dies and traced it with a pencil.  I then stamped a leaf at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00.  From there, you just fill in.  I used the same pattern for each quarter of the circle.  Once the ink is dry, you can go back in and erase the penciled circle.  I finished it off with some red and brown crystal gems.  Absolutely love this technique!  Give it a try!

I used the Kraft cardstock for the card base and love the look.  One of my Must-Have items:

Mojo Monday 263: A Nontraditional Thanksgiving

Hi All!

Happy, Happy Thanksgiving! Finally, our visions of sharing turkey and stuffing with family and friends have come to fruition.  It's my favorite meal of the year, by far.  We usually have family over to our house for the big dinner, but this year we are going non-traditional and heading out. We decided to give it a try.  We'll see how much we miss all of those home-made fixins, but,  I definitely don't miss the 24 hours of preparation :)

Since we're going non-traditional at home, I have a non-traditional Thanksgiving card to share with you today.  The colors were inspired by this card over at Pickled Paper Designs.  She paired up orange and blue and green perfectly. The sketch, I borrowed from a Mojo Monday Challenge. This was the perfect sketch, as it let me play with all of these colors.  Here's what I came up with:

The colors and the DSP are really the stars of the show.  The pop of blue comes from the World Spectacular DSP and the green panel is from the retired Spice Cake DSP.  They really are so unexpected and fabulous together.

PP #70 & Fall Blog Hop 2011

Hi Everybody! What an exciting weekend it has been. The Paper Players hosted a Blog Hop and I got to be a part of it. Thanks to all of you that stopped by and left so many sweet comments. I truly do appreciate it! We will be leaving the links up, so feel free to start hopping if you haven't seen all of the design team's great projects. My card comes to you straight out of the Holiday Mini Catalog. It is the main reason I just invested in the Island Indigo suite: paper, pad and marker. It's just gorgeous!


If you follow my blog, you know that I LOVE to make this card size. I just think it so stylish and sassy! It is 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" scored at 3 1/4". This card has so many fun details, it's hard to know where to start. There's stitching, fabulous color, trimming, a great design and so much dimension that the focal image almost jumps right off the card. My favorite part...the stitching around the edge. I don't have a sewing machine, so I paper pierced the border and used some embroidery floss and a needle to stitch them all together. What a great look!

**Some of you asked where to get envelopes to fit this size card. I'm not sure who else carries them, but Stampin' Up definitely does. They are Item# 107286.
