A Metallic Glow

Hi All,

Most of us peruse our catalogs over and over...then over and over some more.  We've not missed a single thing, right?  Then you're blog hopping and see something from said catalog.  You're like, "Wait, where's that???"  That was this card for me.

These metallic washi tapes were hiding right in plain sight in the Holiday Mini.  Brian King saw them, though, and he used them perfectly.  This shiny, pretty set of tape comes with 5 different designs and widths.

Item # 144644 Year of Cheer Washi Tape $9.00

I paired them up with some Copper Metallic Paper. These papers really make your project pop. The Leaf Die Cut is from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits.

Item # 142020 Copper Foil Sheets $4.00

Item # 143751 Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies $33.00

If you'd like to add any of these to your collection, pop me an email or click on the 'Order Online' icon in the top right-hand corner.  Thanks for stopping by!

Falling Leaves

Hi All,

Here's another card using the Colorful Seasons stamp set.  I just adore these leaves!

They actually remind me of stained glass.  They are created with a 2-step process.  First, I took the leaf background stamp and added Real Red, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard inks with an Aqua Painter.  When stamped, this will create a watercolor look.  I then heat embossed the detailed leaf stamp with Gold Embossing Powder.  Sooooo pretty!

Item # 143726 Colorful Seasons Stamp Set $27.00

Item # 103954 Aqua Painters $17.00

This stamp set is so versatile.  It covers all of the seasons and can be used year-round.  It's a must-have!  If you'd like to add any of these products to your collection, just pop me an email or click on the 'Order Online' icon in the top right-hand corner.  Thanks for looking!

Harvest Moon

Hi All,

I have a few Fall themed cards to share with you before I upload my Holiday cards.  This one is full of oranges and reds.  It makes me wish I was sitting under this tree.

The silhouette was created using a circle mask and sponging with Peekaboo Peach and Pumpkin Pie.  I used Peekaboo Peach toward the top and Pumpkin Pie in the bottom corner.

Item # 141337 Stamping Sponges
The tree branch and leaves are from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set.  The chair is from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies and I used a wood print from the Wood Textures DSP.  The stamp set and dies can be bundled together and work so perfectly together. But, you can also get them separately.

Item # 145348 Colorful Seasons Bundle $54.00

Item # 144177 Wood Textures DSP Stack $10.00
I love this stamp set and die cuts.  So much so, I'll be showcasing them on the next couple of cards.  It's a must have...and I'm only showing it for one season.  Can't wait to use it next year for spring/summer.  If you'd like to add any of these products to your collection, pop me an email or click on the 'Order Online' icon in the top right-hand corner.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hi All,

Baby cards are the cutest to make and this stamp set makes it so easy!  How cute is this tent?

So many options here.  You can paper piece the tent with different paper prints or color it in with ink.  I kept the design simple and added in some different Washi Tape prints.  SU! offers a few different Basic Washi sets that coordinate in color and design making it so easy!  I kept mine neutral for my workshop, but can't wait to make pink and blue ones.

Playful Backgrounds

Hi All,

Today I'm using a stamp set called Playful Backgrounds. But...I think it actually steals the show and becomes more than just a background.

I love abstract art and I think that carries over into stamping too.  Abstract stamps allow you so much creative freedom.  I love how the stripes and circles work so well together.  The circles are embossed with Gold Embossing Powder to give them some pop.  I threw some sequins in to finish it off.

Item # 141920 Playful Backgrounds $16.00

Item # 109129 Gold Embossing Powder $5.00

Item # 138389 Sequins-Brights $200

This card photographed a bit dark, but it really is pretty and light with pinks and blues.  Love these colors together!  If you'd like to add any of these products to your collection, pop me an email or click on the 'Order Online' icon in the top right-hand corner.  Thanks for stopping by!

Ruffled Goodness

Hi All,

Today I've got ruffles...in the form of a perfectly cute ruffled background.  I had seen this card by Lisa Curcio and just had to recreate it.

The Ruffle was created using the Ruffled Embossing Folder.  But, it isn't the only background on the card. The pink diamonds were made using some Embossing Paste mixed with a bit of Rose Red Reinker. Then using one of the Pattern Party Decorative Masks templates, I applied the Embossing Paste.  Very cool technique and the colors you could do are endless.  I felt like an artist mixing paint...lol!

Item # 141979 Embossing Paste $8.00

Item # 142808 Palette Knives $5.00

Item: 144103 Pattern Party Decorative Masks $6.00

The sentiment was made with the Lovely Words Thinlits.  Using the Layering Ovals Thinlets, you can create a frame.  Very cool!

Item # 143733 Lovely Words Thinlits $27.00

Item # 141706 Layering Ovals Thinlits $35.00

Lots to love about this card!  If you'd like to add any products to your collection, pop me an email or click on the 'Order Online' icon in the top right-hand corner.  Thanks for stopping by!

Bike Ride

Hi All,

I love this set.  Yes, it has lots of pieces, and yes you have to stamp all of those pieces, but the pay-off is so worth it.  With this Build-A-Bike set you can create your own custom bikes.

My card is a CASE of this card by Katy Harrison.  I loved all of her luscious layers and the simplicity of the bike.  For me, bikes and polka dots are like peas and carrots.  They are both so perfectly feminine. I couldn't help but pair them up.

Item# 145314 Bike Ride Photopolymer Bundle $43.00
This is definitely one of those sets that you'll want to buy the Bundle.  It makes piecing everything together so easy and I love the 3-D effect that you can get from it. It's a must-have if you ask me :)

Butterfly Bliss

Hi All,

Let's talk embossing folders.  We all have them and, if you're like me, you've got quite a collection of them.  I know you've used them to emboss your cardstock, but have you used them to stamp your cardstock?  I saw this technique used by Kim Jolley and just needed to give it a try.

It's such a simple idea and I had never really considered doing it.  Grab your embossing folder and open it up (I used the raised side).

Item# 139304 Fluttering $8.50
Trim a piece of Watercolor paper to the size you'd like.  {I trimmed mine a little bigger so I had a little extra to trim for the sentiment after it was inked.}

Item# 122959 Watercolor Paper $5.00
Get out your Sponge Daubers (you could probably use sponges too) and a couple of Stamp Pads.  I used Lemon Lime Twist and Tranquil Tide.

Item# 133773 Sponge Daubers $5.00
I dabbed the whole face of the folder with the Lemon Lime Twist and then went over it with the Tranquil Tide.

Item# 144086 Lemon Lime Twist Pad $6.50
Item# 144085 Tranquil Tide Pad $6.50

Spritzing with a bit of water will give it more of a watercolor look.  More water will wash out the colors, while less will leave more color.  You may have to experiment a bit.  Once spritzed, carefully lay your watercolor paper over the embossing folder and press.  I used a brayer, but it is not necessary.  Set aside and let dry.  It won't take too long.  The embossing folder and sponge daubers can both be easily rinsed and set aside to dry.

Item# 137360 Butterflies Thinlits $27.00
To finish it off, a butterfly was cut from the Butterflies Thinlits and backed with a piece of vellum.  I then stamped the sentiment on the trimmed piece of watercolor paper.  So pretty and I love the watercolor effect!

Fresh Florals

Hi All,

The Double Gate Fold is a card that looks quite impressive, but is so easy to make.  I've made a few over the past couple of months, but hadn't shared the technique with my stampin' group.  We finally got around to making one at my last workshop.

I chose the Fresh Florals DSP for this card, as the prints on both sides are a perfect accent to each other.  It takes the guess work out of choosing prints. This paper pack is also great, as it highlights the 2017-2018 In Colors.  I love the In Colors and this pack has 40 sheets of 4 different designs in each of the 5 different colors.  So.Many.Options.

Item# 144131 Fresh Florals DSP $22.00
For a tutorial on the Double Gate Fold, hop on over to Splitcoaststampers.  It's so easy to make and is quite the show stopper.

A Geometric Gem

Hi All,

Today I've got some triangles for ya!  Simple background stamps make for a great masculine card. It then just comes down to picking your colors.

I had seen this card over at Kylie Bertucci's blog and knew it would be perfect for a Father's Day card. Loved how she used the stamp on an angle. I kept the same design but switched up the colors to Lemon Lime Twist, Pool Party and Basic Black.  They are great together!

Item# 144086 Lemon Lime Twist Pad $6.50

Item# 144245 Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock $8.00
Lemon Lime Twist is my favorite new In-Color.  It's so versatile and goes with so many different colors.  If you'd like to add this or any other products to your collection, click on the 'Order Online' icon in the top right-hand corner.  Thanks for stopping by!

Swipe It!

Hi All,

I saw this technique by Kim Jolley and knew it would be perfect for a masculine card. She has coined it 'Inkswiping'.

Kim has a great video here if you'd like to pop over to watch it.  All you need is an old credit card, acrylic blocks and some Reinkers.  The process is simple. First, cut your credit card into strips of different widths.  Second, place a few drops of Reinker onto an acrylic block.  Lastly, swipe a strip of the credit card onto the inked block and swipe onto your paper.  Continue until you have the colored effect that you're looking for.

Item# 122932 Island Indigo Reinker $3.75

Item# 100531 Old Olive Reinker $3.75

Item# 131158 Crushed Curry Reinker $3.75
This is such a simple technique and can be used as a background on any type of card.  I used Old Olive, Island Indigo and Crushed Curry for a more masculine effect, but the options are endless. Give it a go!

Everyone at my workshop loved making this card.  If you'd like to add any of these products to your collection, just click on the 'Order Online' icon in the top right-hand corner of this page.  Thanks for stopping by!

Shades of Gray

Hi All!

I held a workshop in June to create some masculine cards.  I find that one of the easiest ways to create cards for the opposite sex is through color.  My personal preference is with more of an abstract look.

For this card I used a Brayer. Since I have a larger size brayer, I turned my card horizontally for this technique.  I ran my brayer over the Smoky Slate Pad and inked up the top and bottom 1/3 of the card. I then inked up with the Basic Gray and inked up the middle and top 1/3 of the card.  The Basic Gray over the Smoky Slate created the third shade of Gray.  If you had a smaller brayer, you could just run your brayer vertically.

With these dark colors, stamping the sentiments was pretty much out.  I chose to emboss them in white and black.  If you used other colors, metallics would be a great option too.

Item# 141714 Brayer $8.00

Item# 140932 Basic Gray Pad $7.00

Item# 131179 Smoky Slate Pad $6.50

Give this technique a shot!  The options are endless! If you'd like to add any of these products to your collection, click on the 'Order Online' icon in the top right-hand corner of the page. Thanks for stopping by!
